Diversions

"Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path."

Psalm 119:105 NIV84)

"Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”"

Matthew 4:4, 10

"Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Avoid every kind of evil."

1 Thessalonians 5:17, 18, 22

What are the two most powerful weapons in a Christian's arsenal?
Are they not prayer and the Word ?
After fasting for forty days and being tempted by satan, the Lord Jesus who had all power and authority did not use His authority, per se, but the power contained by the living and active Word, saying to the devil: IT IS WRITTEN.
Charles Spurgeon said," Show me a Christian who's bible is falling apart, and I'll show you a Christian who's life isn't."
We know that we need to ask-seek-knock, and pray without ceasing, so here is my question: If we know the power contained here, then why is it so difficult to stay in the Word, and keep on praying?
Let us remember we have a cunning adversary, who knows every trick, and will use them all, every diversion to sidetrack us from "eating the scroll" and proclaiming prayers, in both our natural and supernatural tongues.
Let us remember to be aware that this war is not one of flesh and blood, but is raging over and around us in the spiritual world.
Eat the scroll, stay in your bible, pray without ceasing.
Defeat is not an option.
