Hold steady

"We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?"
Heb.2:1-3

No believer in Jesus, who is born again, plans on allowing themselves to "drift away". Peter declared to the Lord Jesus, that he and the others would never abandon Him, that they would follow Him to death, but he soon Jesus 3 times before a rooster crowed, as the Lord predicted, at the first hint of trouble. When your guard drops down, and you don't pay "more careful attention", "being alert and self-controlled", your anchoring in the Lord gets jarred loose as your spiritual self gets assailed by those "little foxes that spoil the vineyard" who sneak under, over, and around our weakened spiritual force field.
The Lord warned Cain, seeing his heart condition: "Sin crouches at your door, but you must learn to master it".
In Jeremiah, the Word reads," The heart of man is deceitful, and who can know it?" but
"In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.". John 1:4

Let's not ignore such a great salvation. Put your armor on daily, and let's work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
