Purposes of Fruitfulness

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self‑control. Against such things there is no law."
Galatians 5:22, 23

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled."
Matthew 5:6

I recently have been reflecting on the things that Paul refers to as "fruit", and how it is meant to be handled.
Why do the Holy Scriptures call these things fruit?
Fruit can be both food and drink, satisfying hunger and thirst, but not just for us...the ones where fruit is produced. If we keep it piled up for ourselves and do not use it to nourish and feed others who hunger and thirst it will rot, and accomplish nothing.
We are to give...everything that we have and are is to be invested in the Kingdom.
What is the Kingdom of God, and who populates it?
Our brothers, sisters, neighbors, whom we are called to love.
Just a simple word here today...
Take the fruit that is in your baskets and spread it around, there is more hunger and thirst around us than we may realize.
