A Heart like a Child

"and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 18:3

"I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Luke 18:17

During His earthly ministry Jesus had a special affection for children, for a number of reasons. Little children have an innocence and purity of heart that is an example of what God requires of us when we come to Him. These little ones also have pure faith and believe totally without wavering (when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.James 1:6).
Children also are relentless when they want something, looking into the eyes of their parents and perserserving, asking over and over again until their requests are granted. In like manner we should be like little children in our prayer lives - and our Abba wants us to be like this, as He delights in this aspect of our relationship with Him- sitting in His lap, gazing into His eyes with pure hearts and total faith while we relentlessly ask, seek, and knock.
