Making Everything Beautiful

"See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland."
Isaiah 43:19

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor."
Isaiah 61:1-3

Jesus chose this Scripture at the synagogue in Nazareth because God the Father's plan is redemptive, filled with hope, beauty, gladness...to strengthen us, bringing us through the storms of troubles and trials, our roots going deep...that we, His Children, would be on display, examples of His goodness, splendor.
Crowns of beauty instead of ashes on our heads!
We will no longer be held captives of grief and mourning...He Himself has provided, sent us the Comforter, God embodied in the Holy Spirit, a stream in the wilderness.
He is our Redeemer, Deliverer, times of refreshing are coming, and even now, are here; can you not perceive them?
He is turning everything around!
