Tonight my wife and I ran across the names of people we once attended church with, we found them on youTube- they are musicians, and once led worship at our former church.
On their website their music is all secular, there is a video about the story of their lives, and there is no mention of God, their former(?)faith...nothing.
Remember the heights from which you have fallen.
I wish this were a rare story, but as I take a look around I see the wreckage of once strong Christian lives scattered and strewn about like the once powerful Egyptian armies after the Israeli Defense Forces destroyed them in the Six Day War, leaving nothing but carnage behind.
A valley of dry bones.
"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
Matthew 24:12, 13
Take a look around...if you have been walking with the Lord, running this race, been in "the Lord's army" for a while I am sure you can relate. Many have been deceived, fallen from the heights, backslidden and fallen out of relationship with their First Love:
"Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place."
Revelation 2:4, 5
When a season of refining and pruning comes, when we stumble and fall down, when we have opened doors that we know should never have been unsealed, we get back up,repent, close those doors and nail them shut, take a deep breath, cast aside fear, discouragement, unforgiveness, hatred, lust, unbelief, we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. We continue to "eat the scroll", stay in His Holy Word daily, we keep on praying and seeking Him....he who endures to the end will be saved. HE WHO ENDURES TO THE END WILL BE SAVED.
This implies that those who do not endure to the end will be lost...LOST!
There is nothing in this world that will give lasting satisfaction-ever.
There is no other place to go to, no other name under heaven by which we can or will be saved.
The only one we must be surrendered to, and stay that way, is the Lord Jesus;
His will, His ways, not our own.
Beloved, do not turn to the left or the right, stayed focused on the Lord Jesus, all day, everyday, He is to be our Magnificent Obsession...it is no different for us in this regard than it was for the children of Israel, in every generation,
we are being warned to love and worship the Lord our God only.
Be bold and courageous, love fiercely, be vigilant and wary against the wiles of our enemy, do not tread where Christians aren't supposed to go, crucify those dark secrets no one knows about except Jesus, remember that we are in an ongoing war till the end that we will win but-
We must never never never never never give up.
