"I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
John 17:26
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."
Ephesians 1:3-10
"What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"
Psalm 8:4
What does it mean to you when you hear the phrases: "Jesus loves you", or
"For God so loved the world..." how deeply have you considered this one-of-a-kind divine Love?
It's incredible to realize that we were created, molded in our Father's image for one reason only: to be loved by God, our Creator, Father, and Bridegroom, and to love Him in return, and be be intimately involved in relationship, with Him as Father and Bridegroom! It began this way in the Garden and it will end driven by the same motivation, the culmination being the coming Wedding Feast, when Jesus, the Bridegroom, receives His pure and spotless bride!
Who are we, really, that He should consider us deserving of a love that burns so jealously and furiously that we are warned over and over not to take idols? We are nothing, just "filthy rags"... but to Him, we are His prized possession, so valuable that He sent Jesus to ransom us! That He considers idolatry as the same as when a spouse commits adultery, breaking covenant? Can we begin to understand love and rage mixed together when we are guilty of idolatry- and yet the kind of love He has for us that is so great that He forgives us and takes us back- over and over again? This is so mind boggling to me. Oh, how He loves us....
When this understanding seeps in, what else is there room inside of us for?
I know what there is not room for: hatred, petty criticism, ugly behavior, gossip,
low self esteem, no room for baggage, no room left for unforgiveness, malice...
we become consumed by the All Consuming Fire, there is only room for Him.
Oh, how He loves us!
