Working It Out 248

"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. "
Matthew 6:14-15

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."
Phil.2:12-13

"Whoever disowns me before others I will disown before my Father in Heaven."
Matthew 10:33

Unforgiveness against others, and denying the Lord because
we are caving in to peer pressure are major stumbling blocks.
Jesus knows our hearts, our innermost thoughts.
He is omnipresent,  He is always right with us, all the time.
Our private lives, how we act in different places, whether it be amongst friends, school, work, the marketplace, wherever we are...nothing about us is hidden, and we are accountable.
How can a person say, "Jesus, you are Lord of my life and I will follow you" - yet walk in unforgiveness and deny Him in the presence of others?
The answer is simple: You can't!
Is it clear to others by our actions as well as our words who we are?
Do we love much, forgive much, gladly acknowledge that we belong to Him?
Or are there frequent moments where we act as Peter did
when he was confronted after Jesus was arrested, denying that he knew the Savior?
"Working out our salvation with fear and trembling"- to me this means what I previously just wrote- love much, forgive much, just as we have been forgiven, never ever deny who we are and who we belong to-Jesus-even in the face of persecution, threats, even if we were to be threatened with death! I God help us not to deny that we are His, and to be shining examples of what it means to be disciples of the Most High God-Jesus.
