Peel Me A Grape

" For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ."
Phil.3:18-20

"O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together."
Psalm 34:3

For it is written: "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"
Matthew 4:10b

We live in a culture where people live to be entertained, moving from one source of amusement to another. Media, theme parks, restaurants, sports events, concerts, malls, clubs...we lie back awaiting someone to "peel us a grape", our happiness inextricably wrapped up in a sense of fulfillment that comes from being catered to and having our fancies tickled.
But there is so much more, we exist for more than this! The "pursuit of happiness" is directly connected to our relationship to our Abba/Bridegroom/King ... Joy, actually the Scriptures read "fullness" of joy comes from being in His presence, and the gates that we enter through are worship and praise. The only real joy and attainment of true happiness comes when there is real communion between the Uncreated Creator and his prized creation. Today, take time with Him, be still and wait on the Lord, seek and serve Him, worship Him alone, instead of expecting the other way around.
