Control

18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Romans 8:18

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."
Psalm 32:7

3 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in."
2 Cor.1:3-7

"Nothing that is happening is escaping His watchful eye. "He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?"
Psalm 94:9

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
   “For your sake we face death all day long;
   we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39

The events of the first four months of 2011 have been tumultuous! I have observed the fall of governments, unprecedented natural disasters, otherwise healthy friends battling cancer or other serious illnesses, tremendous financial upheaval, and more. Many of our brothers and sisters around the world are being martyred, killed for their faith in Jesus, most of us haven't yet resisted to the point of having our own blood spilled.
When terrible trials and troubles happen, it's natural to ask questions like, "How could this happen?", or "Where is God, why would he allow this?" When things like this happen we realize just how little control we actually have over so many things in life.
The great news is that we have a loving Lord/Master/Abba, who is more than able, and He IS in control of everything! From every sub-atomic particle to the far reaches of every galaxy, nothing lives, moves, or has its being apart from Him. Our names are graven on His hands, our faces are always before Him, beloved, take comfort, especially in the storms of life- we are always on His mind.
Spend time with Him today, don't delay- enter into the Holy of Holies, take a deep breath, be still and know -HE IS GOD.
