“ ‘There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the Lord. "Leviticus 23:3
"Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes."
Psalm 37:7
"My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth. "
Psalm 121:2
“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10
The seventh day is sabbath...cease from striving...my help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth...
We are so busy in this world today. But there is a time for everything, and that includes the essential time of Shabbat, sabbath, resting from working, pushing, and striving in our own selves. This means we have an opportunity to set aside the cares of the world, whether business, chores, etc- busywork- and change our focus to connect with our Father. Try turning off the radio, shut down your phone, email, TV, and all other distractions, where there is just Him and each of us; in the end it will be just Him and us anyway.
The Lord Yeshua made a point of observing Shabbat, and daily He went off to a solitary
place to have quiet time with His Father, to wait on Him, listen to Him. He set the example for us, so follow this prescription.
Today beloved, clear your schedules, be still and rest in His presence, recharge, hear the voice of the Lord.
Shabbat Shalom.
