Being born again is like turning on the floodlights in a dark place, like tearing blackout curtains down as the brightness of the Son floods your heart, minds, spirit, and soul. We becomes transformed from ignoble, broken-down, and battered vessels, filth and dark things thrown out, into bright and shining vessels made for holiness, the seal of our ownership placed on us: HOLY TO THE LORD. We are bought with a very very high price, and no longer do we belong to our ourselves - we become stewards of the temple of the Holy Spirit- heart, mind, body, spirit, all holy vessels, all marked with the Lord's seal.
Holy vessels are made for holiness and Godly things, pure, beautiful, joyful, righteous, love-laden, edifying things. How then should we allow unholy things into these holy vessels? I'm referring to filth and corrupted junk - literature, music, movies, TV, internet, culture- stuff foisted on us as "harmless entertainment", - murder, death, adultery, filthy talk and cursing, occult, pure darkness and unholiness ... these things have no place, no part in us as holy vessels, and when each of us listens closely to the voice of the Lord, the Holy Spirit is saying to you, and you can and will hear it: "This is my way, walk in it, have nothing to do with these unholy and filthy things." A person cannot scoop burning coals into their lap and not be burned...do not deceive yourself.
Is there some house cleaning in order today? Today is a great day to go through your bookshelves, email, movie collections, radio stations, facebook, Internet favorite places...let the Holy Spirit that gives discernment guide you, no second guessing.
Today is a new day, let holiness reign in your holy vessel.
You are made for holiness.
