Blessed

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
   whatever they do prospers.
 4 Not so the wicked!
   They are like chaff
   that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Psalm 1

I almost made the title of this blog: Blessed-or Not? Because this psalm contains both the prescription for blessing, and when you consider not doing what is written here, in other words, the opposite-then you get the opposite of being blessed...cursed. So why would we walk in step with wicked and ungodly people, why would we let the words of scoffers fall on ears that are made to hear high praises offered to the Melech HaM'Lachim, the King of Kings? Blessings await us, granted in His timing, not ours, but why would we not meditate on His Law, His Greatness, His goodness to us, the fact that He is the source of Love, Goodness, Joy, Provision, the Bright and Shining Morningstar?
He sets before us a way of life, admonishes us not to reach towards ways of death, and yet because of a fallen nature many choose darkness, corruption, temporal instead of eternal, the snake oil instead of anointing oil...the struggle continues.
But the choice is ours.
Today let's choose His way...blessings.
