"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. "
Galatians 5:1
"As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly."
Proverbs 26:11
Human nature and the heart of man is a curious thing. Suffering from the bondage and enslavement to sin, we cry out in desperation for the Lord to set us free, He hears our cry and reaching down, touches and delivers us! We walk in newness of life and freedom, but it's wisdom to always bear in mind our weaknesses and remember where we came out of...to return is to go backwards-backslide- and it only takes one step off the Narrow Way, a turn down a dark "side street" to tumble down those slippery slopes. We cannot be so foolish as to say to ourselves, "I can handle that now", or " Just one look, just one sip, just one kiss..." Our eyes have to remain locked on our First Love, the goal is a crown of glory, we cannot, must not, end up as a trophy head on the devil's halls of hell...our enemy is playing for keeps, this is not a game!
The only yoke we can allow ourselves to slip onto is the easy and light one that belongs to our Messiah-Jesus. With it comes discernment, revelation, favor, grace, and strength.
Without it...
